Wake Up, Make Something
In this course, participants will learn how to create their own screen, the fundamentals of pulling a print, and the easiest methods for at-home cleanup. Additionally, each participant will be able to take their screen home with them, ensuring many more prints to come! Creating screens using Drawing Fluid and Screen Filler is a positive screen printing method, in which Drawing Fluid is brushed onto the screen as the image you wish to print. Once dry, the screen is coated in Screen Filler, which will harden in the areas you do not wish to print. Cold water is used to remove the Drawing Fluid, opening the screen up to allow ink to pass through your image area. Screens can now be used to print on paper, fabric or any other surface receptive to water-based inks. Perks of creating screens using Drawing Fluid and Screen Filler include an economical, user friendly and easy cleanup process, allowing artists to create high quality screenprints without the fuss of more burdensome methods. By utilizing the Drawing Fluid and Screen Filler method, artists gain the ability to create beautiful, screenprinted works of art outside of the studio without breaking the bank.
