Wake Up, Make Something
This is an advanced course designed to give insight into modeling of the head and hands. Through an extensive study of a live sitter, using observational drawing and the 'alla prima' method, students will learn to model the structure of the head with planes of color and tone. Much like the way a sculptor chisels from a block of stone, modeling of form in oil paint begins with a broad aspect and ends with refinement. The student must first learn to see the form in the simplest possible sense; a unified arrangement of light and dark masses of color. It is to this unity that all articulation conforms. Learning objectives include: mass drawing, modeling of form, color mixing, palette maintenance, paint handling, edges and more. Open to teens and older. Some experience necessary. All Students receive 15% off supplies from Blue Rooster when purchased for this class!
